Pelican Feeding & Performance Platform
Our Role:
SEM worked closely with DTEI in a partnering atmosphere to ensure the implementation and timely delivery of the project.
Design of the Pelican Feeding Platform and Piling system, removal of rock amour protection, construction of driven piles, supply & installation of composite, recycled material structure and amour protection reinstatement.
Environmental control measures included sediment and spill control, liaising with local authorities regarding resident pelican and penguin colonies.
SEM introduced innovative new recycled products and composite fibre materials to ensure a fully removable structure with zero to minimal long term corrosion and durability issues. The facility greatly improved safety & aesthetics of the area for both public and tourism operators.
